The Create Navigation Path action calculates the fastest path to a target position within a Navigation Space and creates a Path to it. Use Follow Path afterward to move the character along it.
The path is recalculated automatically if the regions in the navigation space move, rotate, scale, or change shape before the character arrives. If the target can’t be reached, the path ends at the closest reachable point. If the start point is not within the navigation space, the path will begin at the closest point within the space.
Character
The object that will travel the path. Its current position is the start of the path.
Navigation Space
The object with the Navigation Space component that defines where the character can go.
Path
The object with the Path component that receives the result. Any points already on the path are replaced.
Target X
The horizontal world position to travel to.
Target Y
The vertical world position to travel to.
Character Radius
How far the character must stay from the edges of the navigation space. Use 0 to treat the character as a single point.
Stay Away From Walls
If checked, the path is pushed toward the middle of the space it runs through instead of taking the shortest line. Characters keep clear of walls and round corners rather than clipping them, at the cost of a slightly longer path. In a narrow passage there is nowhere to move to, so the path is unchanged.
